Some Aspects of Modified Gravity

Mark Hertzberg
MIT

Abstract:

In this talk I will describe some attempts to modify gravity. I will begin by reviewing how the equivalence principle derives from the theory of massless spin 2 particles at large distances. I then describe corrections to the equivalence principle at short distances. I will then discuss various ideas in the literature to modify gravity at large distances, emphasizing their theoretical problems.
